Trailer: Storm and Stone - Joss Stirling
I'm a massive fan of Joss Stirling's Soulfinder series, so I was excited to hear about a new standalone book called 'Storm and Stone' which is being published by Oxford University Press in February 2014.
Here's the fantastic trailer which has been put together by Joss herself!
Behind the ivy-clad walls of an exclusive boarding school, lurks a sinister web of corruption, scandal, and conspiracy. American student Raven Stone has noticed something is horribly wrong. First there were the unexplained disappearances. Then there were the teachers' lies. And now the death threats ...Also entangled in the disturbing turn of events is the enigmatic Kieran Storm - a fellow student with a killer intellect and a body to die for. He's heading for trouble and taking her with him. Raven can feel herself falling in love, but can she trust a boy she knows almost nothing about?
Also, for those of you that, like me, love the Soulfinder books, then you'll be excited to hear there's a new one out next year called 'Misty Falls'. I can't wait!

Trailer: Foreplay - Sophie Jordan
Today, I'm showcasing the fabulous trailer for Sophie Jordan's new book 'Foreplay' which is the first in The Ivy Chronicles trilogy. This book sounds brilliant and will definitely be going on my Christmas list!
Pepper has been hopelessly in love with her best friend’s brother, Hunter, for like ever. He’s the key to everything she’s always craved: security, stability, family. But she needs Hunter to notice her as more than just a friend. Even though she’s kissed exactly one guy, she has just the plan to go from novice to rock star in the bedroom—take a few pointers from someone who knows what he’s doing.
Her college roommates have the perfect teacher in mind. But bartender Reece is nothing like the player Pepper expects. Yes, he’s beyond gorgeous, but he’s also dangerous, deep—with a troubled past. Soon what started as lessons in attraction are turning both their worlds around, and showing just what can happen when you go past foreplay and get to what’s real…

Book Trailer: How to Love - Katie Cotugno
Quercus recently published the debut novel of author Katie Cotugno. I'm going to be reviewing 'How to Love' on the blog very soon but here's a peek at the fabulous trailer for the book.
This is a love story. But it’s not what you think. This is not a first kiss, or a first date. This is not love at first sight. This is a boy and a girl falling in messy, unpredictable, thrilling love. This is the complicated route to happiness that follows.
This is real. This is life. This is how to love.
BEFORE: Reena has loved Sawyer LeGrande for as long as she can remember. But he’s never noticed her, until one day… he does. They fall in messy, complicated love. But then Sawyer disappears from their humid Florida town, leaving a devastated – and pregnant – Reena behind.
AFTER: Three years later and there’s a new love in Reena’s life: her daughter Hannah. But just as swiftly and suddenly as he disappeared, Sawyer turns up again.
After everything that’s happened, can Reena really let herself love Sawyer again?

Trailer: Dare You To - Katie McGarry
I loved 'Pushing the Limits', Katie McGarry's debut novel and I can't wait to read her new book 'Dare You To'. Even more so after I watched this awesome trailer!
Have you read it yet? If so, what did you think?
If anyone knew the truth about Beth Risk's home life, they'd send her mother to jail and seventeen-year-old Beth who knows where. So she protects her mom at all costs. Until the day her uncle swoops in and forces Beth to choose between her mom's freedom and her own happiness.
That's how Beth finds herself living with an aunt who doesn't want her and going to a school that doesn't understand her. At all. Except for the one guy who shouldn't get her, but does.... Ryan Stone is the town golden boy, a popular baseball star jock-with secrets he can't tell anyone. Not even the friends he shares everything with, including the constant dares to do crazy things. The craziest? Asking out the Skater girl who couldn't be less interested in him.
But what begins as a dare becomes an intense attraction neither Ryan nor Beth expected. Suddenly, the boy with the flawless image risks his dreams-and his life-for the girl he loves, and the girl who won't let anyone get too close is daring herself to want it all....

Trailer and Giveaway: Red Moon - Benjamin Percy
'Red Moon' is the newest book by Benjamin Percy, published by Hodder and Stoughton on 9th May 2013. It is a literary/horror crossover novel, reminiscent of Stephen King and Justin Cronin. It is an apocalyptic vision of a future where lycans (werewolves) revolt against the drug treatment and isolation enforced by an increasingly conservative USA government to fight for the rights and freedom of the lycan population.
The film rights have already been sold and production is currently underway.
Every teenage girl thinks she's different. When government agents kick down Claire Forrester's front door and murder her parents, Claire realises just how different she is. Patrick Gamble was nothing special until the day he got on a plane and, hours later, stepped off it, the only passenger left alive. A hero. President Chase Williams has sworn to eradicate the menace. Unknown to the electorate, however, he is becoming the very thing he has sworn to destroy. Each of them is caught up in a war that so far has been controlled with laws and violence and drugs. But an uprising is about to leave them damaged, lost, and tied to one another for ever. The night of the red moon is coming, when an unrecognizable world will emerge, and the battle for humanity will begin.
I have two lovely hardback copies of the book to giveaway. This is only open to entrants within the UK and you must be a follower of my blog. All you need to do is fill out your name and email address on the form below to enter. Good luck!

Trailer: The Academy: Game On - Monica Seles
On 6th June 2013, Bloomsbury are publishing tennis star Monica Seles' first fiction book for teens. 'The Academy: Game On' provides a behind-the-scenes look at life for aspiring sports stars of the future and is on my to-read list. Take a look at the trailer below:
The Academy is the hottest international sports school for teen athletes. There are only two ways in: money – and lots of it – or enough talent to earn a scholarship.
Young tennis star Maya’s dreams have finally come true! She’s got the scholarship. She’s got the drive. She’s on her way from small town to pro career . . . But when Maya starts boarding at the sports training school, her fantasy of the Academy doesn’t quite match the reality – because where there are beautiful, talented teens, there’s plenty of drama.

Trailer: Hidden - Marianne Curley
Today I'm sharing the stunning trailer for 'Hidden' by Marianne Curley. The book is published in the UK by Bloomsbury on 14th March and sounds incredible with a story about stolen angels, intense romance and a secret that may change one girl's life forever.
For as long as Ebony can remember, she’s been sheltered. Confined to her home in a secluded valley, home-schooled by her protective parents, and limited to a small circle of close friends. It’s as if she’s being hidden. But something is changing in Ebony. Something that can’t be concealed. She’s growing more beautiful by the day, she’s freakishly strong, and then there’s the fact that she’s glowing. On one fateful night, Ebony meets Jordan and she’s intensely drawn to him. It’s as if something explodes inside of her—something that can be seen from the heavens. Ebony still doesn’t know that she’s a stolen angel, but now that the heavens have found her, they want her back.

Trailer and Chapter Extract - Born Wicked - Jessica Spotswood
There are lots of books that I'm looking forward to reading in 2013 but one that I have had my eye on for months is 'Born Wicked' by Jessica Spotswood. It's due to be published in the UK by Penguin on 7th February.
Our mother was a witch too, but she hid it better. I miss her.
To me, the magic feels like a curse. According to the Brothers, it's devil-sent. Women who can do magic-they're either mad or wicked. So I will do everything in my power to protect myself and my sisters. Even if it means giving up my life - and my true love.
Because if the Brothers discover our secret, we're destined for the asylum, or prison . . . or death.

Trailer: Everbound - Brodi Ashton
One of the books I'm most looking forward to next year is 'Everbound' by Brodi Ashton, the long-awaited sequel to her incredible debut novel 'Everneath'. It's being published in the UK by Simon and Schuster on 1st February 2013.
It’s been two months since Nikki’s boyfriend Jack sacrificed himself to save her, taking her place in the underworld. She’d do anything to bring him back, including making a deal with Cole, the sinful immortal who tempted her to give up her soul in the first place and who still wants to make her his queen. Together, they will journey to the very heart of the Everneath, a more dangerous place than either of them could possibly have imagined. Is Nikki willing to risk it all for Jack?

Trailer: The Forsaken - Lisa M. Stasse
One of the books which I've been eagerly anticipating this year is 'The Forsaken' by Lisa M. Stasse which is published in the UK by Orchard Books on 2nd August 2012. Not only do I want to read it because I love dystopian fiction but when I saw the publisher describing it as 'Lost meets The Hunger Games' I was even more excited!!
Alenna Shawcross is a sixteen-year-old orphan growing up in a police state formed from the ashes of Canada, the US and Mexico after a global economic meltdown.
But when she unexpectedly fails ‘the test’ - a government initiative which supposedly identifies teens destined to be criminals - she wakes up alone on a remote island reserved for the criminally insane.
Terrified and confused, she soon encounters a group of other teen survivors battling to stay alive, including Liam, a boy who will become her love... and her lifeline.
Soon Alenna makes the terrifying discovery that there’s more to the island (and her past) than she could ever have guessed... But who can she trust? And can she ever escape?
Here's a look at the official trailer for 'The Forsaken' which is absolutely epic!

Trailer: Seraphina - Rachel Hartman
On July 19th, Doubleday is publishing 'Seraphina' by Rachel Hartman. The story is an epic fantasy involving dragons and features an absolutely gorgeous cover. After watching the trailer, I now want to read this one even more than I did before!
Four decades of peace have done little to ease the mistrust between humans and dragons in the kingdom of Goredd. Folding themselves into human shape, dragons attend court as ambassadors, and lend their rational, mathematical minds to universities as scholars and teachers. As the treaty's anniversary draws near, however, tensions are high.
Seraphina Dombegh has reason to fear both sides. An unusually gifted musician, she joins the court just as a member of the royal family is murdered—in suspiciously draconian fashion. Seraphina is drawn into the investigation, partnering with the captain of the Queen's Guard, the dangerously perceptive Prince Lucian Kiggs. While they begin to uncover hints of a sinister plot to destroy the peace, Seraphina struggles to protect her own secret, the secret behind her musical gift, one so terrible that its discovery could mean her very life.

Trailer: Riven - Sarah Bryant
One of my favourite books so far this year is 'Bound' by Sarah Bryant which was a dark and delicious read about fallen angels. I'm absolutely dying to read the sequel which was published by Snowbooks on 1st May 2012 and is entitled 'Riven'.
If you haven't discovered this series yet then I urge you to get your hands on the first book immediately! I was gripped by 'Bound' and after seeing the awesome trailer for 'Riven', I think Sarah Bryant could have another success on her hands. Forbidden love, angels and a battle between good and evil. What more could you possibly want!

Trailer: The Lorien Legacies - Pittacus Lore
On 12th April, Penguin Razorbill will be publishing the paperback edition of 'The Power of Six' by Pittacus Lore.
I've seen him on the news. Followed the stories about what happened in Ohio. John Smith, out there, on the run. To the world, he's a mystery. But to me . . . he's one of us.
Nine of us came here, but sometimes I wonder if time has changed us—if we all still believe in our mission. How can I know? There are six of us left. We're hiding, blending in, avoiding contact with one another . . . but our Legacies are developing, and soon we'll be equipped to fight. Is John Number Four, and is his appearance the sign I've been waiting for?
They caught Number One in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They tried to catch Number Four in Ohio—and failed.
I am Number Seven. One of six still alive.
And I'm ready to fight.
This is the second book in the series and is a fantastically thrilling read. The Lorien Legacies is one of my favourite series and each installment seems to be even more gripping than the last. You can read my review of the book here
Here's also the brilliant trailer for the series which offers a tantalising glimpse at 'The Rise of Nine' which is due out on 30th August 2012.

Trailer: Hallowed - Cynthia Hand
Here's the gorgeous trailer for 'Hallowed' which is the sequel to Cynthia Hand's brilliant debut novel 'Unearthly'. I can't wait to read 'Hallowed' and find out how the love triangle between Clara, Tucker and Christian is going to be resolved!
For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

Trailer: This is Not Forgiveness - Celia Rees
'This is Not Forgiveness' is unlike anything else you might have previously read by Celia Rees. The subject matter is a complete change of direction for Rees who is usually known for her wonderful historical fiction. It's published by Bloomsbury on 2nd February 2012 and is definitely one to check out.
Everyone says that Caro is bad ...but Jamie can't help himself. He thinks of her night and day and can't believe that she wants to be his girlfriend.
